Embassy Row Townhouse

The townhouse property, designed by Outerbridge Horsey with interiors by Zoe Feldman, had a small rear garden overlooking Rock Creek Park, providing an opportunity to maximize the seemingly endless views. European Hornbeam, well suited to limited space, frames the yard and a painted cedar fence with a Chippendale-style gate beckons you to focus on the views without tumbling into them. Light limestone paving with bedding plants add to the feeling of floating above the park. We added steps up to a dining and seating area and a water feature visible from the lower-level access. The curved cast stone and limestone fountain lights up at dusk and serves to both baffle traffic noise and provide a tranquil sound indoors and out. The terrace houses a built-in grill and a portable firepit provide entertainment spaces all year.
