Garten
The owners of Preserve Restaurant in Annapolis wanted to open a traditional beer garden that had a fun, relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of outdoor space. We elevated the outdoor space with large Redwood pergolas with double height ceilings lit by string lights. American Wisteria climbs the posts, with evergreen Hellebores providing moments of color in the colder season. American Wisteria and the purlins provide shade for the diners. Hornbeams, Purple Coral Bells, and Hydrangeas hide parking lot views. A vegetable and herb garden offers fresh ingredients to the menu. The apple green color found on the building is reflected in the plantings. Two trained oak trees join over the metal entry arch, and Lavender lines the paths, adding scent and texture. By entering the restaurant through a turret-like structure, the overall feeling of enchantment unfolds.
